Cricket betting at gory — bet on every format from T20 to Test
For people in Bangladesh, cricket is more than a sport — it is a passion. Whether it is BPL, IPL or an ICC tournament, gory lets you bet across a range of markets on every match. Match winner, toss, top batsman, live in-play — all on one platform.
Three cricket formats and favourite competitions
T20, ODI and Test — each format has its own character and calls for a different betting approach. Understanding how to bet in each format matters.
T20 — fast and unpredictable
In a 20-over game the result can swing at any moment. Interest in betting on T20 is highest in leagues like BPL and IPL. A single over can change the course of a match, which makes live betting particularly engaging in this format.
ODI — the 50-over test
In one-day international cricket there are two innings of 50 overs each. The mid-innings overs create conditions for many different markets. In ICC World Cup or bilateral series ODI matches, there is a range of bets to choose from — from match winner through to top run-scorer.
Test — the five-day long contest
In Test cricket a draw is a valid result. Over five days, pitch behaviour, weather and each session can shift the betting situation. Test series markets include series winner and first-innings lead. Alongside BPL and the T20 World Cup, international Test series remain a regular and important fixture.
For fans in Bangladesh, BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) is the closest competition to home. Every team's performance is discussed across the country, and gory offers betting on every match in the tournament. IPL and ICC tournaments are covered with equal importance.
Football and other sports alongside cricket
There are some key differences between cricket betting and football betting. Cricket produces many smaller markets based on innings, overs and wickets, while football markets focus on goals, corners or half-time scores.
In football a draw is a common result, so the match winner market has three options — team A wins, team B wins, or draw. In T20 or ODI cricket there are usually only two outcomes, giving two sets of odds. In Test cricket three outcomes (win/loss/draw) mean three sets of odds.
Betting is also available on badminton, kabaddi and tennis. However, these sports generally do not offer the same depth of in-play markets as cricket.
For those interested in casino games, live baccarat, roulette and other popular games are available at gory casino — a completely different experience from sports betting.
Popular betting markets and what they mean
Cricket offers many types of markets to bet on. Below is a description of seven familiar markets.
Match winner
A bet on which of the two teams will win. In T20 or ODI there are two sets of odds — team A or team B. Example: if you place ৳1,000 on team B to win and they do, you get back ৳2,750; if they lose, the full ৳1,000 is gone.
Toss result
A bet on which team will win the coin toss before the match begins. The outcome depends entirely on chance, so the odds for both teams are usually close to equal.
Highest run-scorer
A bet on which batsman will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match. You pick one player from a list of options.
Over/under runs
A bet on whether the total runs in an innings will be above (over) or below (under) a set number — two options are available. Example: will total runs exceed 160?
Multiple bets combined
Combining bets from several matches or markets into one makes a multi bet. If all selections are correct, the odds multiply and the return is larger — but one wrong selection means the whole bet is lost.
Highest wicket-taker
A bet on which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. In T20, pace bowlers tend to perform well, though spinners also play an important role.
Handicap and run margin
When there is a gap in strength between two teams, the stronger team is given a notional run or wicket deficit — this is the handicap. For example: if team A carries a 20-run handicap, winning by only 15 runs means they "lose" under handicap rules. It is worth understanding the rules carefully before entering this market.
How to read odds — three formats
The odds for the same match can be written in three ways: decimal, fractional or American. All three carry the same information.
Example 1 — team A to win (৳1,000 stake)
Decimal 2.50 means: ৳1,000 × 2.50 = ৳2,500 back (৳1,500 profit + ৳1,000 original stake). If you lose, ৳1,000 is gone. Fractional 3/2 means ৳3 profit for every ৳2 staked; American +150 means ৳150 profit on a ৳100 stake. All three say the same thing.
Example 2 — favourite team B to win
Because team B is the favourite, the decimal odds are only 1.50. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,500 if they win (৳500 profit). American -200 means you need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit. The lower the odds, the more likely that team is considered to win.
How multi bet calculations work
Adding three selections together multiplies the odds. Example: 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.90 = 3.99 (approximately). A ৳100 stake returns ৳399 if all are correct. If even one selection is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. Multi bets offer a higher potential return, but the risk is also higher.
In-play — odds change as the match goes on
Live betting, or in-play betting, means placing bets while the match is in progress. Odds update instantly after every wicket or big six. At gory, live betting lets you follow the match as it unfolds.
Example: in a T20, team A has scored 80 runs in 10 overs but has lost 3 quick wickets. At that moment, team A's odds to win will lengthen (because their position has weakened) and team B's odds will shorten.
Odds shift quickly during powerplay overs, death overs or when a batsman hits form. In in-play betting it is important to stay focused, as there is little time to make decisions.

Some useful thoughts on cricket betting
Betting is one form of entertainment. A few things are worth keeping in mind to participate responsibly.
- Set a budget and stay within it — do not increase your stakes out of fear of losing money.
- Understand a market well before placing a bet. Spreading across too many markets at once splits your focus.
- Avoid rushing in live betting. Take a moment to assess the situation before making a decision.
- Even if a multi bet seems to offer a higher return, the risk is comparatively greater — starting with one or two selections is better for newcomers.
- Watch how odds move — if odds drop sharply, it usually means most bettors are backing that side.
- The toss market is roughly 50-50, so it is better not to make it the centre of your main strategy.
- Betting is for entertainment, not a guaranteed way to make money. Avoid the temptation to place larger bets to recover losses.
